Bi Luo Chun

Green · Dongting, Suzhou (Jiangsu) · downy spring spirals

Tight, silver-downy spirals hand-rolled from the earliest spring buds, the famous “Green Snail Spring” from the hills of Dongting above Lake Tai. There the tea bushes grow interplanted with apricot, plum and loquat, so the leaf takes on its floral-fruity scent right on the branch. In the cup it is fresh and gently sweet, with a clear floral note and a light fruity tang, none of the coarse green edge. Brew it with cooler water around 80°C, or the delicate leaf turns bitter.
